Building Capacity for Servicing the Least Literate
Overview:
This training will present practical applications for capacity building and program improvement for Community Literacy Programs and provide resources for programs who service the least literate. Topics covered include Program Development, Tutor Recruitment and Training, Fundraising, Marketing/Public Relations and Management.
Objectives:
Participants will:
- have an understanding of the key elements of a successful community literacy program
- will know the initial steps to become incorporated and program set-up and programming needs
- practical suggestions for program development, tutor recruitment, managing the data, and fundraising
- resources for additional information and ways to improve efficiency and capacity

Programs that wish to register multiple staff members for a particular
session may send one check that covers all of their registration fees.
However, a registration form must be provided for each staff member.
Programs may also use purchase orders when registering their staff
members. Please complete a registration form for each participant
and attach purchase order to cover fees. Mail to the National Human
