An excellent place to take online professional development courses in
adult education is through ProLiteracy International and World
Education. Most of the courses are free. These two non-profit organizations provide excellent training's for adult education administrators and instructors. Both organizations have a long history of providing training's for adult education programs.

Access Learning

Access E-Learning is a tutorial of the Georgia Tech Research on Accessible Distance Education (GRADE) project at Georgia Tech. The tutorial is comprised of 10 modules that offer information, instructional techniques, and practice labs on how to make the most common needs in distance education accessible for individuals with disabilities, and enhance the usability of online materials for all students.

These materials are designed for teachers and professional development staff. Part of NCSALL’s effort to link research and practice, they have been developed using findings emerging from NCSALL research. All materials have been piloted with adult students or teachers and revised on the basis of their feedback.

Inanimate Alice is Transmedia - designed from the outset as a story that unfolds over time and on multiple platforms, the episodes are available on all devices capable of running Adobe’s Flash Player. ‘Alice’ connects technologies, languages, cultures, generations and curricula within a sweeping narrative accessible by all. As Alice’s journey progresses, new storylines appear elsewhere providing more details and insights, enriching the tale through surprising developments. Students are encouraged to co-create developing episodes of their own, either filling in the gaps or developing new strands.
